Hathcocks' prayer update excerpts

Greetings from Springfield,

So thankful to be a follower of Christ! So glad that Jesus overcame death and sin! I am thankful for this time of the year when we can take the time to celebrate Jesus and what He has done for us on the cross. This week has been full but good. I received good news from my MRI which indicates that God has healed my back! Knowing that encourages me to wait on God and continue with PT as He heals the nerve and muscles.

We are preparing for a road trip to Mississippi and Virginia to visit family and participate in a mission debriefing conference. This last Saturday we participated in a St. Patrick's Day parade with our friend Jerry who has a Model A car. It was cold and windy but we still had a lot of fun passing out candy and gospel tracts. We are thankful for the unique experiences that God gives us. We are continually thankful for the mission house where we are staying and for providing a car for us to drive.

Please pray:
  • Those who received a gospel tract would read it and God's Spirit would continue to draw their hearts to Him. Their eyes and hearts would be open to the truth.
  • Safety as we will be traveling. We would be an encouragement to our family and we would be attentive to hear God's voice while we are attending this conference. Our girls would be encouraged as they will be with other missionary kids.
  • Darrel's mom will probably have surgery this week so pray for wisdom for the doctors and complete healing for his mom. Darrel's second cousin Doug has been struggling with health problems and is nearing the end of his life. Pray that God would give him peace and comfort as well as those who love him.
  • We have a lot of speaking opportunities after this conference so pray that God would show us which stories that He wants us to share and the things He wants us to share.
  • God would give Arianna clarity and peace as she makes a final decision about where to go to college.
Thank you so much for praying for us! We will be gone for the next two Sundays so I will write when we return.

Hathcocks' prayer update excerpts

Greetings from Springfield.

Thankful for the blessings our girls received this weekend! Thank you for praying for the youth. Thankful for the opportunity that God gave Darrel to meet with our dentist and neighbor for a time of discipleship. We had a lot of fun sharing with the WMU in Battlefield about what God is doing in Debrecen. Thankful for an MRI to see what is going on with my back. The medical system in the U.S. is different than overseas. We are thankful that you continue to pray for us and those who live in Debrecen.

Please continue to pray:
  • God would continue His work in the lives of students in Debrecen. They would hunger for God and to be burdened for the lost around them. They would share the Gospel boldly with love and encourage each other daily.
  • Easter in Hungary is similar to that in the states where many people who don't normally come to church will come during this Easter celebration time. Pray that many will hear the Gospel and they would give their lives to Him.
  • Darrel as he meets with our dentist and neighbor, that he would encourage/challenge them to grow in their relationship with God.
  • G. a student from Israel, she would understand that Jesus is the Messiah and she can have a relationship with Him.
  • We would follow God day by day as He shows us the things that we are to do. Our hearts would be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and we would walk in obedience.
Thank you so much for your prayers!

Hathcocks' prayer update excerpts

Greetings from Springfield.

We are thankful that God is working in ways that we cannot see! Our friend Brian is making progress and God is healing Him. God is at work in Springfield, Missouri. We had a blast with the youth last Sunday! Darrel was able to connect with our dentist--God is at work in his life. He is a person that God has placed in our lives who wants to grow in his relationship with God. So blessed to reconnect with friends in Springfield.

The Debrecen group had English worship last Saturday and D and A came! This weekend we were able to visit our storage garage and it was a lot of fun remembering and looking at stuff. We were looking for stuff to take with us when we speak at a Tuesday WMU group. Darrel and one of our friends made gulyas the Hungarian way and we were able to take it to a church and share real Hungarian gulyas, and they loved it! We had trouble finding the big yummy Hungarian bread. They enjoyed it and we had an opportunity to meet some new people. We are thankful for the things that God allows us to do! We have started reading a book about the Great Welsh revival and how God was at work at that time. My heart is so burdened for God's spirit to awaken America and to move in a powerful way. We need it!

Please pray:
  • Tuesday we will be sharing with a WMU group in Springfield so pray that God will show us which stories to share and that we would share the things that He wants us to share.
  • This coming weekend our girls will be involved in a Disciple Now weekend at our church, so pray for them and the other youth who will be coming. Ask that God would fill their hearts with encouragement and direction. The students would come with a hunger in their hearts to know Him better.
  • God would continue to bless the first Saturday monthly English worship and draw people unto Himself.
  • God would continue to give us wisdom as we wait on Him in several different areas of our lives.
Thank you so much for your prayers!
