Hathcocks' prayer update excerpts

Greetings from Debrecen,

God is at work in the lives of students in Debrecen. God is answering our prayers for students to have a hunger for His Word. God is bringing students to Coffee House. We are blessed to be here at this time and we are thankful that God chooses to use us. This week we have a doctor and his daughter who will be joining us in ministry. The teachers who will be teaching English in the following weeks will start arriving at the end of this week.

Please pray:
  • Several of the guys who come to Bible study on Monday are not believers and last week Darrel was able to share the gospel very clearly. Pray they would not ignore this opportunity to accept Him and that the Holy Spirit will keep bringing to their minds the truth of the Gospel. Also whatever is hindering them would be removed.
  • D. an Indian student would continue to be open and that he would be drawn to Jesus.
  • Divine appointments for the doctor, that God would send students to him while they are on campus and that they would have opportunities to speak about Jesus.
  • Wednesday night as Dr. Ard will have opportunities to share in class and maybe other classes during the week.
  • God would continue to send people to coffee house and that we would not miss any opportunities that we have to speak about Jesus. The students who come would be curious about Jesus.
  • God would give us the ability to learn and understand Hungarian as we meet with teachers this week.
  • God would stir in peoples hearts to come to the English classes the first couple weeks of November. People would also invite their lost friends.

Thank you so much for your prayers.

Blessings,
Kimberly Hathcock

Hathcocks' prayer update excerpts

Greetings from Debrecen.

Thanking God for a full wonderful week and answers to prayers for divine appointments. God's plans are so much greater than what we could have done ourselves. Many seeds were planted this week and we are so thankful. Great conversations on Wednesday during Darrel's class and two students came back to our home to have dinner with us. Today is a special day of prayer for European people.

https://www.facebook.com/events/924827697612028/   or   europeanpeoples.imb.org.

Please pray:
  • Darrel will be taking some intense Hungarian classes this week; pray that he would be able to absorb and use the information and that he would speak even better.
  • That we would not miss any opportunities that God gives us to share about Him.
  • Michael Gott and his team are coming at the beginning of November to teach English. Pray that people will make time to come and invite their friends. Ask that many people would come to know Jesus during this time.
  • That the students in Darrel's class would be curious about Jesus.
  • Intercede that God would draw lost students to Coffee House on Thursday nights, and that the students who are coming would continue to invite their lost friends.
  • A doctor from the States will be coming next week. Pray that God would provide opportunities for him to share with other doctors and students.  Also that the people he talks with would desire to know God.

Grace and Peace,

Kimberly Hathcock

Hathcocks' prayer update excerpts

Greetings from Debrecen,

It seems that Fall has arrived. This is my favorite time of the year with the cooler weather and the leaves turning colors. This school year is in full swing and it is neat to see how God is at work in Debrecen. It looks like next month English worship will be on campus!  The Reformed church on campus will let us use their building. Several students are interested in leading out with coffee house!  We have a wonderful group from Tennesee that will be working with students on campus this week.

Please pray:
  • Divine appointments as this group will be available and talking with students. Pray that God would give them just the right words and that they would communicate the Gospel and His love to those whom they talk. Students would receive the gift of salvation.
  • The group will also be talking with students in Darrel's class on Wednesday night. Pray that the conversations lead to spiritual things.
  • We would keep our eyes on Jesus and to join Him where He is at work in Debrecen.
  • J and G are growing closer to God, pray against distractions and that they will receive the gift of salvation.
  • My daughters would depend on the Lord to help them with their studies. He would help them and their faith would grow.
Thank you so much for praying!!

Blessings,

Hathcocks' prayer update excerpts

Greetings from Debrecen,

We had a fun and full week! We are so excited about what the Lord is doing and will do in the coming weeks. We will have a group arrive this coming Saturday who will be on campus talking with students. It has been exciting to see how God is working in the lives of students on Monday nights. Arianna was accepted at DBU! She hasn't made a definite decision and continues to pray about the place where God wants her to go to school.

Please continue to pray:
  • Monday night Bible study, that the students who come will come with hungry hearts and those who are not believers would choose to have a personal relationship with Jesus and to let Him control their lives.
  • Darrel and I as we study Hungarian that God would allow us to retain the information and to allow us to speak fluently.
  • Students on Wednesday nights would continue to participate in discussions and that Darrel would see where God gives him the opportunity to discuss spiritual things. The students would see a difference in his life and to be curious about the things of God.
  • Next Saturday we will have English worship and there is a possibility to do this on campus. Pray that God would grant us favor with those who will allow us to do this.
  • God would give us clear direction about coffee house possibilities and that He would make a way if this is His will. Several students have expressed an interest in leading out in this ministry.

Blessings,
Kimberly Hathcock
