Hathcocks' prayer update excerpts

Greetings from Texas,

We are praising God for His provision for our lives. We are blessed by how God has provided for us through IMB. We are thankful for the churches that provide mission houses for us to stay while we are in the states. Friends and family who have allowed us to borrow their cars and use them while we are here. We are so grateful for God's financial provision for Arianna at DBU through generous people who provide scholarships and see the value of investing in students. God provides just at the right time. We are continuing our time in Texas and we are preparing for the middle of the month where we will have several speaking opportunities. We are thankful for the opportunity to tell the stories of our awesome God and what He is doing in Debrecen. I am thankful that He has allowed us to be a part of it. It is a blessings to reconnect with some of the people who have joined us in ministry.

Please pray for:
  • We would use our time wisely and discern the opportunities God gives us to share with and encourage others in their faith. We would keep our focus on Him and not let other things distract us.
  • My youngest sister Karlita and her husband Ryan just had their first baby, Ezra,  who was diagnosed with Krabbe disease. They have gone to a specialist at Duke Hospital to seek further medical treatment. We are praying for God's timing and the possibility to receive treatment that could bring healing.
  • Brigitta, a student in Debrecen, who is seeking to know God's will for school/work/life. He would make his plan clear to her and to give her peace while she waits.
  • God would show us the things that He wants us to share with churches in the coming weeks. Pray that as we share they would be encouraged in the greatness of our God.
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12

We pray for Europeans that have rejected you or do not believe in you, Lord.  We pray that the truth will pierce their hard hearts and their eyes will be opened. We pray that as they discover you and your Word, they will long to share Jesus with others.

Hathcocks' prayer update excerpts

Greetings from Texas,

God is our strength! Darrel has been in Mississippi speaking at a missions conference. It has been a blessing to look back and retell the stories of what God has done in Debrecen. God is faithful and amazing. So we press on with school and doing life in Bonham. We are finally getting some fall-like weather. The girls and I had an opportunity to go to a Judgment House at a church in town. It was our first time and it really added a different dimension to our understanding of life/death and the importance of sharing the gospel. We are so thankful for the friendliness of the people in Bonham and the church.

Please continue to pray:
  • Darrel as he finishes speaking and travels home, that God would continue to speak to his heart and for safety as he drives.
  • We would be diligent in the work that God has called us to do and wisdom as we prepare to return to Hungary.
  • So thankful for volunteers who have worked along side us. Praying that God would continue to raise up those who would be willing to serve in Hungary.
  • The University students of Debrecen, their hearts would be open to hear and believe the gospel.

Who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 2 Corinthians 1:4

Lord, we lift up women across Europe who are suffering after a pregnancy loss. May we show them the love and compassion of Christ and tell them about the forgiveness and healing He can give.

Thank you so much!

Hathcocks' prayer update excerpts

Greetings from Texas!

God continues to give us His strength each day! He is awesome in the way that he puts together the seemingly random things of our days and creates something amazing. Darrel made it safely to Pickneyville, Il. He spoke several times today and will have some meetings tonight and tomorrow as well. The girls and I have been working on school. It was good to hear from Z who we prayed for last week and I can see God at work in her life! I saw R again, the wiccan lady at Walmart, but did not have a chance to talk to her; I ask that you join me in praying for her. We plan on continuing with school this week, and Darrel will visit family then drive to another mission conference in Mississippi.

Please pray:
  • The transition continues as we prepare to return to Hungary in January. It can be stressful but pray that God will give us clarity and peace. We continue to see God at work in the lives of students in Hungary and we desire for God to use us in their lives.
  • God would give Darrel the words and stories to share as he speaks in churches and also safety as he travels.
  • Our former pastor and his wife, Josef and Csilla, that God would strengthen them and raise up others who will join them in serving.
  • Wisdom for me as I teach and God would give Abigail and Sophia the ability to learn and understand what is being taught.
  • Denes and Alyssa, God would use them and show them in whom they are to invest, and doing life with a baby.
  • Arianna would focus on the Lord as she desires to serve Him but not sure what that will look like in terms of her degree. God would affirm or change her degree choice so that it falls in line with His purposes for her life. She would have peace as she waits to hear from Him.

Monday, September 12

He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Psalm 23:3

Lord, intervene, heal and restore marriages and families in Europe.

Hathcocks' prayer update excerpts

Greetings from Texas,

We had a lot of fun sharing a pot of gulyas with our friends! We enjoyed a few days off from school and with Arianna and her roommate. We experienced the Fannin County Fair with farm animals, rides and corn dogs. We were blessed to meet a another friend of ours from Hungary who was attending some classes this week in Dallas. What a blessing to see God at work in her life. Thankful for the opportunity to participate in a suicide prevention walk. So many lives affected by suicide. Remembering and praying for our friends who are grieving the loss of loved ones. We are blessed with Today and investing in the lives of those around us.

Please pray:
  • Safety for Darrel as he will be traveling over the next couple of weeks and sharing about what God is doing in Hungary.
  • We would be sensitive to the Holy Spirit, and have boldness with the opportunities He gives us to share about Him.
  • God's continued work in two young ladies, I. and Z's lives, that they would desire to know Him and to choose obedience.
  • A., a young man, that he would find a group of believers to connect with and continue to grow in his relationship with God.

Also I would like to share a prayer request taken from "40 Days of Prayer for European People":

And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. John 17:3

May Europeans experience eternal life and may they know You the only true God and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Thank you!

Hathcocks' prayer update excerpts

Greetings from Texas,

God is on His throne in heaven! Thanking God for the blessing of seeing our former pastor Joseph from Debrecen in McKinney, Texas, of all places. God is using him in Hungary as he is one of the leaders of Hungarian Baptist Aid. We are getting ready to make a big pot of gulyas and invite a bunch of people over to our house on Monday. We are so thankful for how God is using our time here in Bonham.

Please pray:
  • Joseph and his wife, that God would give them strength and wisdom as they lead Hungarian Baptist Aid and the work that He is especially doing in the schools. That God would continue to raise up those who need to serve.
  • We would keep our eyes on Jesus and do the things He tells us to do.
  • The young people that we discipled in Hungary, they would continue to seek after God, desire to study His word and to invest in other people's lives.
Also I would like to share a prayer request taken from "40 Days of Prayer for European People":

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

Father, may your followers in Europe constantly be reminded that with you there is peace and that you have overcome the world.

Thank you for praying for us!
