Hathcocks' prayer update excerpts

Greetings from Debrecen.

This time next week we will make our way to Budapest to spend the night for an early flight out the next morning. Our hearts rejoice as we think about the things that God has done that can only be explained by His work in Debrecen. We stand in awe as we think about how God has allowed us to walk with students and see how He has changed their lives and to know that He will continue His work.

We gathered for English worship Saturday and had a wonderful time. There was one man who came for the first time and had never experienced Christian worship and never heard praise songs. He is a seeker and so grateful that God sent Him. They will continue to meet once a month, and we will see what God does. We continue to pack and get ready to leave and say goodbye. We are so thankful that God has provided a mission house to stay in while we are in Springfield, and even a vehicle to drive. We will have our last Bible study this Monday, and this group will be the hardest to say goodbye to.

Our hearts are also heavy as we learned that one of our fellow missionary friends/family in Kiev lost a son to suicide. They have returned to the States and today they will have a memorial service for him.

Please pray:
  • The McDonnel family (Mark, Donna, Anna, Mary and Abby) who lost their son/brother. Please pray as His Spirit leads you. The memorial service will be this afternoon in the States.
  • Physical, spiritual, and emotional strength for this transition time and as we pack and move.
  • God will give us words of blessing and encouragement and that the students would see clearly that it is God who is as work and that He has great plans for Debrecen.
  • It is hard to say goodbye to the people who are not yet Christians. Pray for God to send others who will continue the witness to: C, Z, D, J, A, M, A, G and M, P, K, and F, C, P and I, Z, M, D and the University students. Many people from the different groups who have served here have had an impact on many of these people.
Thank you so much for praying for us and those who God has placed into our lives.

One of God's servants,

Kimberly Hathcock
