Hathcocks' prayer update excerpts

Greetings from Debrecen.

The Christmas season is upon us. One of the blessings of living in Debrecen is the Christmas Market that is set up in the middle of town. There are little booths with crafts and treats. We enjoy walking through the market, buying gifts and meeting friends. Last Sunday we met with our friend G. who shared with us the story of Hanukkah and sang some prayers in Hebrew. Her boyfriend who is a cultural Christian asked us what kind of Christians we were and God gave us the opportunity to share our testimonies. Our friend G. pulled out some more candles and said that we could share about Advent. God is good and at work in their lives.

Darrel finished up his teaching and will give a final next week. Many students have exams next week. This past Saturday we were able to share at a Catholic high school after they watched a Christian film that was produced in Debrecen. We were each assigned a class of students and God gave us another opportunity to share our testimonies. We are thankful for being able to share the greatest news ever!

We continue to have good conversations at Coffee House and God is making the way for deeper conversations. Arianna did receive the scholarship for DBU that we were waiting and praying for. The closer we get to our stateside time the more time speeds up! So much to do!

Please pray:
  • G. and her boyfriend would see the importance of a relationship with God. God would give us the opportunity to continue our conversation with them.
  • The seeds planted on Saturday with the Catholic students would bear fruit and grow.
  • S. and student from another country, that God would encourage and strengthen her and continue to use her a a witness for Him. Pray for her father to become a Christian.
  • Healing from sickness in our family.
  • The students on Monday night as we study God's word, that they would continue to have teachable hearts and  that the Holy Spirit would teach them through us.
  • Many students will have exams this week so pray that those who are Christians would have peace and strength to study and that all of them would realize how much they need to depend on God to help them.
  • God is also at work in S's heart, who is a Debrecen businessman from another country. Pray that he would saturate his mind and heart with the truth of God's word and that he would continue to have a deep hunger for God.
So thankful for all that God is doing in Debrecen.

One of God's servants,
Kimberly Hathcock
